Wow. In less than 24 hours this points race clinic has filled up. Please read on...
I absolutely love the fact that our very first respondent was 2007 Masters National Points Race Champion Brian Peterson. It's this sort of humility that helps riders like Brian win races. If we can teach him just one more thing it might help him repeat his win. By the way, for those that didn't hear, in T-Town last year Steve Palaez (Lombardi's), Steve Reaney (Cal Giant) and Brian (Alto Velo) all tied on points, but Brian got tie breaker in his last sprint.
I wanted to share that story because there are a good number of Nor Cal riders that are dreaming of winning or placing well in the big points races coming up. Great fitness and speed are not always enough to win or place in a points race. Add in a mixture of luck and race smarts and your odds improve. We're hoping to help riders swing luck to their side and improve their race smarts at this clinic. Thank you for showing such high interest.
So, here's where I would like to take this... 37 riders have shown interest in the clinic already. I am looking to add a 3rd and 4th coach to help us out with next Sunday's curriculum. Once I secure that situation I am hoping to bump up the total number of attendees. I will let you know when the coaches confirm.
Finally, this is a points race clinic with an emphasis on racing. All attendees should have track racing experience. If you can not make this clinic or do not yet have track racing experience we encourage you to start with the beginners sessions (Saturday morning and Monday night), with the intermediate sessions or at the training races on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Thank you, Larry Nolan
