It's nice as a promoter (and makes reg go better/faster for everyone) to have people pre-reg'd... you get that warm fuzzy that the day wont be a waste..etc...

I pre-reg for almost everything....   and yea.. occasionally i miss a race because i can't make it, and i lose that entry fee... overall i'm still way ahead of the game.... say 30 races a year (a halfway decent average i'd guess.. personally i race more) .. if you figure $5 or $7 late fees...  that's $150-$210 in late fees you pay if you don't pre-reg..   and you wait in line longer at every race..etc..

you could miss 5,6,7 races and lose that entry fee (figuring $30 a race) and break even....

i like to let promoters know that i plan on coming, and have a speedier reg/check in process....    and if i lose an entry fee or two ... or even 5 over the year... i'm still better off than paying late fees...
