Subject:  WINNER WITHIN - Women's Cat 4 Mentor Program
 
The NCNCA is resurrecting the Women's CAT 4 mentor program that started eight years ago.  
The program has not been active the last couple of years but is now back once again.
 
The purpose of the CAT 4 Women's Mentor Program is to encourage women to race.  Mentors will 
focus on safe riding, pack skills, racing techniques, gear usage, bike fit, etc. in order to support 
novice racers.  
 
Mentors will wear orange safety vests and clothing provided by our program sponsor, 
Voler Team Apparel.  If they have earned the right; mentors may wear championship 
clothing in addition to orange safety vests.  Unlike the Early Bird Criterium series, 
there will be a maximum of two mentors per race.
 
All "Winner Within" mentors are either current or former category 1/2/3 female racers.  
A note with a brief bio about each mentor will be sent out in a couple weeks.  
 
Mentors will not impact the outcome of a race and will be available afterward to 
answer questions, discuss race techniques and offer suggestions for improvement.
