Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to update you all regarding the Mt.
Shasta Hillclimb which is taking place this Sunday the
9th of Sept.

We still have plenty of openings for race day
registration which opens at 9:00 am on Sunday.
Information and our race flyer are available at
www.reddingvelo.com

If you are concerned about smoke from the 28,000 acre
Moonlight Fire burning in Plumas County, here is our
report: The location of the fire is over 100 air miles
southeast of Mt. Shasta. Heavy smoke impacts have been
occuring from about Chico south. The Redding area,
which is about 45 miles south of the race course
(north of the fire) has been smoke free since the fire
started. According to weather reports some smoke could
start travelling to the north, but it appears that it
won't push much further north than Redding. That means
the Mt.Shasta area should be free of smoke, creating a
perfect opportunity for riders to head north, out of
the smoke, and climb one of the great climbs in
California! We hope to see you there!

Also: the Siskiyou Century is taking place on Saturday
the 8th, check it out at www.siskiyoucentury.com

I'll try to send another report on Saturday.

Thanks!

John Waldrop
