[ Please feel free to forward this to anyone not on the NCNCA email list. There's still room in our upcoming clinic. ]
.
How would you like getting paid to watch a bicycle race unfold? I can say from personal experience it can be a nice way to spend a day outdoors; enjoying the sunshine and one of your favorite pastimes.
.
The NCNCA is looking to increase the number of officials (judges and referees) in our district. You do not need bicycle racing experience, although it is a plus; at a minimum those interested should have watched some road bicycle races on television.
.
Officials are paid a fee plus all mileage incurred traveling to/from the race as well as miles logged during the event (current rate is $0.36 per mile). Additionally officials are supplied lunch by the race sponsor.
.
Time commitments aren't much; you only have to work two events a year to be considered an active official. Of course you can work more if you wish. Keep in mind that clubs can save money when promoting a race if they have one or more officials from their club who can work their races.
.
We will be conducting the officials clinic on Saturday, October 20 in Livermore and upon completion you can start working races. The clinic is free and lunch will be provided; however you must sign up in advance to reserve your spot. If you would like to attend or have questions please email or call Casey Kerrigan (casey at caseykerrigan.com, 510-531-1400).
