This session is perfect for roadies hoping to race on the track in 2008, and for those that want to improve their racing.

BTW- the Oct. 25th, Nov. 1 and 8 new racers clinic at the Bicycle Outfitter still has slots. Please tell your friends that are thinking of racing to come out for it. Thanks!

Larry

Last night at the NCVA BOD meeting the need to bridge the gap between the beginner sessions and the weekday and weekend races came up. Well, I was leading the October 27th session anyways so I volunteered to turn this into an "intermediate session". There was talk of this session becoming a regular monthly (4th Saturday) thing so your attendance will show support for the program. We will also work on the structure of the training so that riders and supervisors will know what to expect from both sessions. Obviously, the intermediate session will test the riders skills in a much more progressive way than the beginner sessions do.

Immediately following the beginner track session (8:30-11:30am) this Saturday we are offering an intermediate track session (11:30-2pm) for riders that are serious about racing the track in 2008. Matt Martinez and I will lead the riders through a series of skills and drills and mock races that will help you better understand your strengths and areas that you need to work on. Mostly, we'll have fun out there because it's late October and we don't want to take the training too seriously at this time of year. Oh, we'll take the safety of the riders seriously, but you'll spend more time drafting and holding position than attacking and ripping the legs off your friends.

Rental bikes will be available but only before 11:30 for the intermediate session. Cost is the usual $5, which is quite the bargain for the coaching and advice that you will receive! Rentals are also $5. Parking is $6 (or included in your annual pass).

See you there!
