There is more lost here than 7 women cat 4 entries.  There are a lot of 
women cat 3s who are not going to want to race with the cat 1/2 women at 
Cat's Hill.  So you will probably see all the women's numbers go down and 
then think that you were made the right decision about the fields.

I think that most races should have at least 2 women's categories, but am 
not too particular about how they are divided.  I understand issues 
regarding costs and the bottom line that the promoter is looking at.  But I 
also understand promoting the sport.  Miss Mary and Sabine have given good 
feedback regarding this.  At our Surf City races that I helped with this 
year, we always had races that weren't money makers: kid's race, halloween 
costume race, women's c and junior women's  challenges for examples.  They 
were rewarding to include as we saw a lot of smiling faces and were 
encouraging new people into this sport that we all live and breathe.  Of 
course, they took the spot of what could have been a more lucrative 
category.

Just some thoughts to keep in mind.
