Hey now,
Some more information updates about next week's Central Valley Classic.
- The Pro/Elite 1 stage race is full. Thanks to those that stepped up
and registered.
- There is still room in the Elite 2, Masters 35+1/2/3, and Pro/1/2
Women's Stage Race.
- The Stage Race is timed, it is not an omnium.
- Cat 2s looking for upgrade points can earn a bunch in a timed stage
race. We are real close to the minimum 60 riders so you are eligible to
earn points.
- Time is running out to register for the Saturday's Time Trial.
There will be no same-day registration. Non-stage race categories will
probably start after 12:00 noon, so you will have plenty of time to drive up
in the morning.
- The time trial course is the same for all categories. 16.5 miles.
If you are not familiar with the course, and you have done the Pine Flat RR,
the course runs along the Kings River on Belmont Ave, then crosses over at
the bridge into Tivy Valley. The course has excellent pavement and the
potential for some very fast times.
- The legendary Dave Towle will unfortunately not be at Merco this
year, but he will be at our event, calling YOUR race on Sunday.
Read about that here:

- The Tower Crit is all ready for you to register and take home some
prizes and money. All fields place to at least 10 deep.
- The crit course is safe, fun, and even challenging, too
- There is a running event held at the Tower Criterium on Sunday,
March 11th. 2.5 mile and 4 mile run. Details are on our website.
- You also get good quality race time... the Masters 35+/45+/55+ 4/5
race is 50 minutes long, and the Masters 30+ 1/2/3/4 race is 60 minutes
long.
Thanks for reading. Good luck this weekend at Merco, and thanks for
supporting racing in the Central Valley.
Three straight weeks of high quality, big time NRC events, all within a
50-mile radius. You cant get this anywhere else in the country.
