Hi Barry,
A very good friend of mine is creating a TV show called Bicycle World
that seems to capture the essence of what cycle enthusiasts love about
the sport. Fox Sports has agreed to air an episode, and he is now
negotiating with potential sponsors. He has asked that I let people know
about the show, have them look at the website, and, if they like what
they see, register. There is no cost and he will NEVER re-sell or share
anyone's info. It's just that the more interest he can prove the more
successful the show can be, so he needs to aggregate information of
those who have shown interest.
the link to the site is http://www.bicycleworld.tv and click the yellow
box that says "register to win"
If you feel so inclined I'm sure Dean would be delighted if you would
share the request with the club. I'm also sure that he would love to
include the Cat's Hill in an episode, if you wanted the coverage. On the
other hand, if you are not interested, I completely understand and
apologize for the intrusion.
Here's the email he sent me.
Dear Family and Friends,
As some of you know, I have been working on a TV show about bicycling
for over a year and a half. It is a weekly show dedicated to anyone who
rides a bike for fun or competitively, or who would like to start riding
a bike to become more healthy.
Anyway, Fox Sports has agreed to air the show (The first big hurdle) and
now I am off an running looking for sponsors at the big trade shows
(Hurdle #2) etc.
But, relax, I am not here to solicit your money (but if you have any
friends who work for Corporate America...I wouldn't say no to a meeting
or phone number)....but I digress...
As part of my viral marketing, I am asking you to visit the web site -
www.bicycleworld.tv . You can view the promotional trailer of the show
with yours truly and most importantly I need you to click that little
yellow icon on the bottom of the page and register on the site. There is
a short questionnaire about yourself. (Please answer it truthfully, I
don't need to skew the numbers) Then I need you to send this request to
everyone you know and ask them to register also. Especially your friends
and friends with kids that have bikes! You can rewrite the request to
make it personal to your mail list.
I will not share the registration information with anyone. Getting the
most registrations possible shows corporate America and potential
bicycle sponsors that there is a following for this show.
Oh yes, the site is a work in progress and will be fully functional in
the next week or so, so don't fret if the other links are not active.
I thank you greatly for being my friend and for being able to share the
success of the show with each of you.
Happy Riding
