Just wanted to let everyone know that we will have a clinic for new
race officials ( ie people who want to become a race official) on the
weekend of Jan 20/21. The clinic will be in the Fremont area.
Saturday will be a day of class work and lectures. Sunday will be on
the job training (in conjunction with the Early Bird event) and
taking the test. All clubs that are promoting a race are encouraged
to have at least one licensed official. If a club can provide one or
two of your own officials then your officials bill will be reduced.
Since we currently have 20 days where we have 2 or more races
scheduled for the same day increasing out pool of working officials
is even more important this coming year.
Anyone who is interested in taking the new officials clinic should
contact Robert Leibold at velopro1 at sonnet.com for more information
about the meeting location on Sat the 20th and clinic costs. People
who want to get a leg up on the officials clinic are encouraged to
download the USCF rulebook at <http://www.usacycling.org/forms/
USCF_Rulebook.pdf> and read through the general rules and the road,
track and Cross specific portions.
